May 10, 2012 – Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs, P.A. announces that Joanne M. O’Connor, a firm shareholder, has been elected to the Duke University Alumni Association Board of Directors. 

O’Connor is highly recommended as a leading Florida lawyer (Litigation: General) by Chambers USA, and has been listed as a Super Lawyer by Law and Politics South Florida Super Lawyers Magazine and by the South Florida Legal Guide as one of South Florida's Top Lawyers. She practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, business torts, products liability and lawyer and law firm defense.

O'Connor graduated summa cum laude from the Tulane University School of Law, where she was a Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and named to the Order of the Coif.  She holds a master’s degree in political science and Latin American Studies from the University of Florida. She received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Duke University.

The board of directors of the Duke Alumni Association is comprised of alumni who represent the general body of alumni and alumni from the graduate and professional schools. Board members support the mission of the association by engaging, connecting, and celebrating alumni and friends of Duke University by serving as formal and informal representatives of the university and lending their expertise to further university projects and programs.
